Private persons no longer have to pay income tax on a grant received from the Environmental Investments Centre (EIC) for connecting to the public water supply and sewerage system or installing a holding tank. The amendment to the Income Tax Act recently entered into force, thanks to which individuals who have previously received assistance from the EIC may receive an income tax refund.

On 15 August, the Environmental Investments Centre (EIC) opened the second application round for resource efficiency investments in companies. The purpose of the support is to increase the resource productivity of Estonia’s mining and processing industry undertakings via the adoption of innovative solutions. Support is granted for making investments in resource efficient solutions, including the best possible equipment, resource management systems and IT-applications for supporting those systems.

On Friday, 27 July, the Environmental Investment Centre (EIC) will begin accepting applications for the second application round for the renovation of street lighting infrastructure. Financial support will be allocated from the European Union Cohesion Fund.

Last night, on 6 June, the three best ideas were chosen at the super final of Negavatt, the resource-conserving competition of the Environmental Investment Centre (EIC). The 10,000 euro main prize was given to the team Circup who produces machines for gas stations and coffee shops based on dry ice technology, which are made for quickly washing reusable cups.

Since 1 May, the urban bus services in Pärnu have been using bio-methane or green gas produced in Estonia as fuel. The festive opening of the project will be today, 4 May, at 11:00 at the new bus station of Pärnu. EIC supported the Pärnu County Public Transport Centre project with EUR 673,884 under the Cohesion Fund of the European Union.
