Water management

EIC provides grants for various activities concerning water management, from two sources of financing: the Cohesion Fund and the Environmental Programme. The objective of the water management scheme of the Environmental Programme is to maintain and achieve a good condition of bodies of water and ground water and to ensure the conformity of drinking water with the requisite requirements. The Cohesion Fund measures are aimed at large-scale water management infrastructure investments through open application rounds, at the elimination of residual waste from former military and industrial areas and also at the improvement of the condition of flowing bodies of water through investment plans.

In the case of water management, activities supported from both sources of financing overlap, and the determining factor here is the cost of the project – projects with a cost of up to 958 675 euros are financed from the Environmental Programme and projects in excess of that amount are financed from the Cohesion Fund. The Environmental Program receives financing applications every year (generally twice a year), while the Cohesion Fund holds application rounds.
